Petrol and Diesel Shortage in Punjab, Farmers Bharat Bandh Protest: In a major development, the shortage of petrol and diesel looms large in Punjab as petrol pump owners are observing "No Purchase Day" on Thursday. This means the petrol pump owners in Punjab won't be purchasing petrol and diesel today.
This may led to the shortage of petrol and diesel in Punjab. Besides, the petrol pump association has also given their support to the farmers' call for Bharat Bandh protest on February 16 — 6 am to 4 pm.
During the Bharat Bandh, the farmers are going to block the major roads and highways across the North India. Similarly, the petrol pumps would remain closed except the emergency services would be made available.
Later on February 22, no petrol and diesel would be available to the commuters as the petrol pump owners won't be selling fuels in order to emphasize their demands.
Moreover, the petrol pumps in Punjab have been witnessing long queues. Therefore, to avoid any inconvinience, people must either get their tanks filled or avoid unnecessary travel.
