Punjab Cross Border Drug Smuggling News: In an intelligence-led operation, the Ferozepur Police in Punjab have busted a cross-border drug smuggling module, the Director General of Police (DGP) said on Thursday.
The accused were apprehended during the operation, and 4.013 kg of heroin was recovered from their possession.
The police are yet to release the details of the arrested accused and the module.
The DGP, in a statement, said that as per the preliminary investigation, the recovered consignment was smuggled from Pakistan. He added that backward linkages have been established in the case, indicating strong cross-border connections behind the operation.
An FIR has been registered at Mamdot Police Station in Ferozepur, and further investigation is underway.
Reaffirming the force’s commitment, the DGP said the Punjab Police remains dedicated to dismantling narco-networks and ensuring a drug-free, safe, and secure Punjab.
