The Political landscape in Jalandhar has been stirred with the upcoming municipal elections, and the departure of these former councilors from the Congress could have implications for the party. However, the Congress downplayed the exits, asserting that those who left were already expelled from the party, emphasizing their departure would not impact the party's stance.

Notably, The Congress has taken disciplinary action against several members, including the councilors who switched allegiance to AAP. MLA Rajinder Berry from the Central Constituency had reported these cases to the High Command, prompting the expulsions based on allegations of anti-party activities. The political developments mark a significant shift in Jalandhar's political dynamics in the lead-up to the upcoming municipal elections.
