The Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has denied political clearance to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for a proposed official visit to the United Kingdom and Israel.

According to a report, the Chief Minister was scheduled to lead a high-level delegation in February to invite international investors for the upcoming 6th Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit, which is scheduled for March 13-15, 2026.

The delegation was set to include State Industries Minister Sanjeev Arora, Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, and other senior officials.

However, the MEA has reportedly denied the mandatory clearance required for the Chief Minister’s diplomatic passport travel.
AAP Punjab’s media in-charge, Baltej Pannu, confirmed that the trip has been cancelled as a result.

Notably, this is the second time in recent years that the CM has been blocked from travelling abroad; a similar clearance was denied for the Paris Olympics in 2024.

Despite this setback, the state government had successfully conducted an investment tour to Japan and South Korea just last month in December 2025.
