Chandigarh Weather Center Warns of Dense Fog in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh
Punjab Weather Update: As winter tightens its grip on Punjab, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the state, predicting a further drop in temperatures over the next three days. According to the Chandigarh Weather Center, residents in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh should brace themselves for the possibility of dense fog, creating challenging visibility conditions on the roads.
The Meteorological Department specifically identified several districts under the yellow alert, including Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Faridkot, Moga, Bathinda, and Ludhiana. The alert advises residents to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the biting cold.
As the nights become increasingly chilly, the temperature is expected to plummet, creating a need for residents to bundle up and take measures to stay warm. The yellow alert serves as a reminder for people to be vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines during adverse weather conditions.
The local authorities are urging citizens to exercise caution while commuting, especially during the early morning and late evening hours when fog is expected to be at its densest. Travelers are advised to use headlights, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and, if possible, avoid unnecessary travel during the alert period.
