Chandigarh: The cases of coronavirus are increasing day by day in Punjab. Under this, 77 new cases of corona have been confirmed in the state in the last 24 hours and at the same time four people have lost their lives due to this epidemic. Since then, the death toll from the corona virus in the state has risen to 62.
It may also be mentioned that so far 2997 corona cases have been registered in the state out of which 2259 people have recovered and now there are 676 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in Punjab is 75.35 per cent.
Three more people were killed in Amritsar on Thursday. Two other persons, aged 63 and 70, including a 62-year-old woman, were killed in 14 new cases in the district, including two BSF personnel.
The health department is not aware of how 11 out of 14 patients became infected. In addition, Corona's community spread is likely to increase.
The highest number of 19 cases was registered in Pathankot on Thursday, including a 25-year-old woman and her six- and three-year-old daughters.
Apart from this, six cases have been reported in Sangrur, four in Rupnagar and Patiala, three in Mohali and Jalandhar, two in Moga Nawanshahr, Fazilka and Tarn Taran and one each in Bathinda, Gurdaspur and Muktsar.
