On Sunday, Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh launched a comprehensive cleanliness campaign titled "Sada Patiala, Asi Savariye" in 60 wards of the city.

Dr Balbir Singh announced that strict legal action, including heavy fines and challans, will be imposed on those found littering in public spaces to ensure compliance. He urged residents to adopt a stronger civic sense, specifically calling for the segregation of garbage at the household level to streamline disposal at Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs).

The minister further revealed that the state government is partnering with NGOs for systematic maintenance.
