No smoking, roaming in short clothes: Punjab village's puts in new norms

Likewise, the villagers have stalled warning boards to make people aware of these new rules.

Punjab Mohali Village Rules News: Amid rising incidents of brawls, shortage of water, and arguments over parking vehicles, the residents in Mohali village have imposed a few restrictions for people lodging in paying guest houses.

In Jandpur village, near Mohali's Kharar, the local youth committee has decided to address concerns related to certain behaviours in the area. They have passed a resolution to take action against smoking, wearing revealing clothing, and staying on rent without proper verification.

The decision comes after residents noticed that some paying guests were causing disturbances late at night and getting into unnecessary arguments, allegedly threatening the safety and peace of the village.

Likewise, the villagers have stalled warning boards to make people aware of these new rules.

"As a village, we’ve made a collective decision to inform the outsiders that if they want to stay, they must follow the rules. Even societies have rules and guards. After verification, those with a good record will stay, while those with a criminal record will have to leave. There are around 500 immigrant workers here, but if anyone — Punjabi or non-Punjabi — wants to create chaos, they will all have to abide by the rules," the villager said.
