Punjab News: The Punjab Police have warned against the use of “China wire” for flying kites in the state, stating that strict action will be taken against those violating the directive during Lohri.
DSP Ajnala Gurvinder Sing, in a video statement, said that an “eagle eye” will be kept on people flying kites or using dolls with China wire, with the help of drones.
The police officer warned that those found selling or flying kites using the banned wire will not be spared. In case of any untoward incident, a case will be registered against the responsible persons under the relevant sections.
He further said that action will also be taken against parents who allow children to use such wire, adding that China wire will not be permitted under any circumstances.
DSP Gurvinder Singh appealed to parents and shopkeepers, emphasising that the use of China wire has led to the deaths of people travelling on two-wheelers.
The officer added that special police teams will be deployed to keep vigil over such instances.
