Hoshiarpur accident: A tragic accident occurred in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district earlier today, killing four people on board the car, on the spot.
The deadly accident took place around 5 am when a car and a Punjab Roadways bus, coming from opposite directions, collided.
The deceased have been identified as residents of village Jhalet in Una district of Himachal Pradesh. They were Sukhwinder Singh, Sushil Kumar, Brij Kumar, and Arun Kumar. The injured person has been identified as Amit Kumar. Among the deceased, one was a retired Army officer, while the other three were farmers.
According to information, the group was travelling in a car (HP 72 B 6869) from Himachal Pradesh to drop a friend at Amritsar airport. When the car reached near Tanda, it collided with a Punjab Roadways bus (PB 06BB 5365) that was en route from Dasuha to Hoshiarpur. The accident reportedly occurred due to dense fog.
The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the car’s driver-side portion completely mangled, with its airbag deployed. Four occupants died on the spot, while Amit Kumar, who was reportedly preparing to go abroad, sustained serious injuries. He was immediately admitted to the Civil Hospital in Hoshiarpur for treatment.
Upon receiving information about the accident, ASI Gurmeet Singh, in-charge of Police Post Bhunga, reached the spot along with a police team and initiated further legal action. The collision was so intense that the bumpers of both vehicles were blown off.
The bodies of the deceased have been kept at a civil hospital, and an investigation into the accident is underway.
Meanwhile, the rear portion of the bus appears heavily impacted, with the metal body visibly crumpled and bent.
