Punjab Weather Update: Lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Bathinda.

Punjab Weather Update Today: The Day after Punjab witnessed a slight rise in the average minimum temperature, the state registered a fall of -0.9 degrees Celsius, thus enhancing the cold conditions across the state. The India Meteorological Department stated it was above normal by 1.6 degrees Celsius in the state. 

In the meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Bathinda (AMFU) where the mercury level dipped to 5.4 degrees Celsius.

According to information, Chandigarh recorded 7.2 degrees Celsius, while Chandigarh (Airport) recorded 8.6 degrees Celsius, Amritsar recorded 6.6, Ludhiana 6.1, Patiala 6.2, Pathankot 7.6, Bathinda 5.4, Faridkot 6.0, Ballowal (SBS Nagar) 5.7, Faridkot (AWS) 8.1, Fatehgarh Sahib 6.7, Ludhiana (AWS) 5.8, Samrala (Ludhiana) 7.9, Mohali 7.4, and Balachaur (SBS Nagar) recorded 5.9.  
Earlier, the India Meteorological Department had stated that the weather has been dry in Punjab and Haryana while dense to very dense fog was being reported from a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana. Likewise, cold way to severe cold day conditions occurred at many places in Punjab and only a few places in Haryana. 

Similarly, the IMD had also stated that light to moderate rain was likely at isolated places on January 9 and weather was likely to be dry thereafter in the state. On the other hand, a fall in the minimum temperatures of about 2°C is likely during the next two days and no large change, thereafter in the state.
