The Punjab Government has clarified that the election process for Zila Parishads and Panchayats Samitis would continue as scheduled on Monday, notwithstanding the gazetted holiday announced by it. According to an official spokesperson, the scrutiny of nominations for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samitis would take place on Monday as per the notification issued in this regard on September 4, 2018. 

The spokesperson said that the holiday, announced on the occasion of the first Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, would not affect the election process in any way.
