Nihang Avtar Singh Mouni Guinness World Record: In a remarkable achievement, Nihang Avtar Singh Mouni has set a new Guinness World Record for wearing the largest turban, weighing an astonishing 200 pounds.
While traditional Sikh turbans are typically between 5 to 8 meters in length, Avtar Singh’s colossal turban far exceeds this, reflecting his dedication to Sikh traditions and his commitment to inspiring younger generations.
The turban, which takes over seven hours to put on and three hours to remove, has become an emblem of Sikh pride and heritage. Speaking to the media, Avtar Singh emphasized the importance of traditional turban-wearing, particularly for the youth.
He expressed concern that many young people today wear smaller turbans, often citing headaches as a reason to avoid longer styles, and sometimes choose to cut their hair, moving away from traditional Sikh practices.
Avtar Singh’s daily attire includes a 45-kilogram turban and heavy iron bracelets on each arm, which together weigh about 20 kilograms. His distinct look, complete with symbolic weaponry, is part of his religious practice and his mission to promote Sikh values.
This record-breaking turban has become a testament to his resilience and dedication, serving as an inspiration within the Sikh community and beyond.
