Gurdas Maan Pledges Support for ‘Drug-Free Punjab’; Meets Governor Kataria at Lok Bhavan

Legendary Punjabi singer and cultural icon Gurdas Maan met with Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria at Lok Bhavan today. The meeting aimed at the urgent need to combat the growing menace of drug abuse in the state, which has had a devastating impact on Punjab's youth.

Governor Kataria urged the 69-year-old singer-songwriter to utilise his massive global popularity and influential voice to educate the younger generation. The Governor emphasised that icons like Maan have the unique ability to motivate youth to stay away from intoxicants and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Showing his full support for the initiative, the singer assured the governor that he would not only promote the message through his art but also actively participate in awareness marches across the state. Maan said that protecting the youth from the scourge of drugs is a "shared responsibility" and expressed his commitment to contributing toward building a healthier Punjab.
