ACS-cum-FCR warns against non-compliance; Inspection to be conducted soon

Spokesman News Service: Chandigarh, December 6: In its endeavour to provide hassle-free and corruption-free services in a transparent manner, the Punjab Revenue Department has set up boards displaying the fee to be charged for writing registration and other documents in all Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils.

This is in compliance of an order issued by Revenue Minister Mr. Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria after a review meeting last month. The Additional Chief Secretary-cum-FCR Mr. M.P. Singh said the display board task has been completed by November-end and would go a long way in making the people aware about fee to be charged. In order to ensure the compliance, he said, inspection would be conducted by the department’s teams.

Giving details about the fee structure for drafting of documents, he said Rs 100 would be charged for the application regarding Section 72, Rs 500 would be charged as drafting fee for Sale /Mortgage/Conveyance/Pattanama (Lease) deeds, another Rs 50 would be charged for a second copy of such deeds.

Rs 200 would be charged as fee for Tatima nama, Agreement, General Power of Attorney, Special Power of Attorney, will, Adoption Deeds. Besides Rs 200 would be charged as fee for Application under section 25 (1). Mr. MP Singh said strict action would be taken against those charging more than the fixed fees.
