Punjabi Cab Driver Jarmanpreet Singh Stabbed Multiple Times In Kelowna, Canada Latest News: A cab driver of Punjabi origin, identified as Jarmanpreet Singh, was stabbed multiple times in Kelowna, Canada in the early hours of September 2, leaving him critically injured.
Kelowna Cabs has launched a fundraising campaign for the driver to support his recovery, according to a report by Kelowna Capital News.
According to the report, the incident occurred when the taxi driver was on his second shift with the company. During the shift, an altercation reportedly led to the incident.
Singh received more than 30 stitches. He is now at his home, while awaiting surgery. A person has been arrested following the incident, and the investigations are ongoing.
The Kelowna Cabs board has met with Singh to ensure he was supported, the report said.
The report added that Kelowna Cabs is requesting people to send an e-transfer to jarman1687@gmail.com to support Singh with medical expenses not covered by insurance and lost wages during recovery. Additionally, to support mental health and general living expenses.

Gavin Dew, the Conservative Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the electoral district of Kelowna-Mission in British Columbia, Canada, shared footage of the incident on X.
In the clip, the attacker can be heard saying, “Get the f**king money out, bro”. Gavin Dew said Singh was attacked by a homeless man in an attempted robbery.
“The system has failed Jarmanpreet twice. This Kelowna cab driver was stabbed and slashed late at night by a homeless man after an attempted robbery. Now, despite deep wounds, he’s been sent home from Kelowna General Hospital to wait for a surgical backlog to clear,” Gavin Dew said in the post.

In a subsequent post, he said, “Jarmanpreet was just doing his job when he became a victim of the violent disorder that is plaguing our business districts. His suffering is being prolonged by a collapsing healthcare system that can’t keep up. He needs urgent treatment - and we all need change.”
