CHANDIGARH: Customs officials at Chandigarh Airport on Saturday (March 4) arrested a person and recovered 18 bars of pure gold weighing 1 kg (total 18 kg) worth Rs 10,28,16,000 from his possession. The Seized gold is Worth Rs 10 crores.
Notably, The accused, who had come to Chandigarh from Dubai on an IndiGo flight, was arrested on the basis of passenger profiling, the official said. The gold bars have been seized under Section 110 of the Customs Act and the passenger has been arrested under Section 104 of the Act, the official said.
