“Cases are being registered against journalists in Punjab for questioning the AAP government...” he added.
Punjab News: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday slammed the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
Speaking to ANI, Chugh said that the law and order situation in Punjab has “deteriorated”.
Talking about AAP sarpanch Jarnail Singh, Chugh said, “In a marriage palace, miscreants openly shot dead a person, showing that criminals have no fear of the law in Punjab.”
He further alleged that the lives of ordinary people are not safe in Punjab under the AAP’s rule.
“Cases are being registered against journalists in Punjab for questioning the AAP government...” he added.
As per reports, police confirmed on Sunday that the sarpanch was shot dead during a wedding function at a resort in Amritsar. The victim was at the ceremony when two unidentified men opened fire, killing him on the spot.
The police stated that a gunshot hit his forehead. The victim had survived three previous attacks.
President of the Indian National Congress, Punjab, and MP Ludhiana, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, echoed a similar opinion.
“Recent murder of sarpanch Jarmal Singh is shocking & condemnable,” he said in a statement.
“Assailants, unmasked & unafraid of Punjab Police, shot him in full public view at a wedding! Not the first such incident. AAP Punjab has lost moral authority to govern; time for a new, strong govt,” he stated.
