A shocking case of brutality has come to light, where a 35-year-old man from Tarn Taran district in the northern Indian state of Punjab was allegedly stabbed to death by his neighbor over a land dispute.
The deceased has been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, son of Bohar Singh, and a resident of Varnala village in the same district.
According to sources, a verbal spat broke out this morning over a shared piece of land, during which the neighbor reportedly attacked the victim with a knife, slitting his throat. Gurpreet Singh succumbed to his critical injuries while being taken to the hospital.
The wife and mother of the deceased claimed that the accused neighbor had been quarrelling with Gurpreet Singh for some time over the same land issue. The family has demanded strict action against the accused.
The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.
