Former SAD ministers summoned by Sri Akal Takht Sahib

The ministers have been asked to give explanations in person at Sri Akal Takht Sahib Ji within the given timeframe.

Punjab News: SAD The letter issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, summoning Sukhbir Singh Badal and other ministers after declaring Sukhbir Singh Badal as "Tankhaiya," has been made public. In the letter, 17 former ministers have been instructed to appear personally at Sri Akal Takht Sahib within 15 days to provide their explanations.

The letter states that as of 15 Bhadon Nanakshahi Sammat 556, corresponding to August 30, 2024, a gathering of Panj Singh Sahibs was held at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. During this meeting, the case involving the Shiromani Akali Dal was discussed. 
According to the unanimous decision of the five Singh Sahibs, the former cabinet ministers were held equally responsible, alongside the president of the Shiromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal, for the actions taken during that time. The ministers have been asked to give explanations in person at Sri Akal Takht Sahib Ji within the given timeframe.

  • Gulzar Singh Ranike
  • Parminder Singh
  • Sucha Singh Langah
  • Janmeja Singh
  • Hira Singh
  • Sarwan Singh Phillaur
  • Sohan Singh Thandal
  • Daljit Singh Cheema
  • Sikandar Singh Maluka
  • Bibi Jagir Kaur
  • Bikram Singh Majithia
  • Manpreet Singh Badal
  • Sharanjit Singh Dhillon
  • Surjit Singh Rakhra
  • Maheshinder Singh Grewal

It is noteworthy that Sukhbir Singh Badal has already submitted his apology at Sri Akal Takht Sahib after being declared as "Tankhaiya." 

Additionally, former Cabinet Ministers Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, and Gulzar Singh Ranike have submitted their explanations to the Akal Takht office. The remaining former ministers have yet to do so.

It is worth mentioning that from this list, Bibi Jagir Kaur and Parminder Singh Dhindsa are part of the rebel faction of the Akali Dal. Sikandar Singh Maluka, Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon, and Sucha Singh Langah are reportedly dissatisfied with the Badal faction, while Manpreet Singh Badal has joined the BJP after parting ways with the Shiromani Akali Dal.
