328 missing 'Saroop' case Update: Amritsar Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar on Saturday stated that one of the accused in connection with the 328 missing 'Saroop' of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji has been apprehended and a search operation was underway at the accused’s house in Chandigarh and his office.
The apprehended accused is identified as SS Kohli.
The Amritsar Commissioner, during a press conference earlier this morning, said that an FIR number 168 was registered in connection with the 328 missing 'Saroop' of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and an SIT (Special Investigation Team) was also formed to investigate the case.
The SIT has conducted its investigation, collected evidence, and obtained search warrants from the court, the commissioner added.
He further added that to implement these warrants, searches are currently underway at fifteen locations in Chandigarh and Punjab.
“If we look at the breakdown of the accused, two are in Chandigarh, and eight are in Amritsar city,” the commissioner said.
Searches are also being conducted in Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Rupnagar, and Amritsar rural areas.
“Our senior officers are supervising these operations, and the results will be recorded. Whatever is found during the searches will be documented. Secondly, the SIT is conducting a completely merit-based and evidence-based investigation,” Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said.
