Chandigarh, September 1: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has condoled the death of Joginder Kaur, wife of eminent Sikh scholar and historian Prof. (Dr) Kirpal Singh. Joginder Kaur died at the age of 93 after a brief illness, leaving behind two sons and a daughter, besides her husband. The Chief Minister deputed his Secretary-cum-Officer on Special Duty M P Singh to attend the funeral and pay floral tributes on his behalf, said an official spokesperson.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said Joginder Kaur, a school teacher by profession, had been a pillar of strength for her husband in his pursuit of academic excellence and success spanning over five decades. Captain Amarinder Singh extended his deep sympathies with the bereaved family and hoped they would find the courage to cope with their grief.
