Topic of first session was “AI in Business Management”

CHANDIGARH: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of CGCJ organized a two day National Seminar on 'Artificial Intelligence and Nanotechnology' from May 25 to May 26, 2023. The Seminar was attended by 76 participants from different institutes across the state. The Seminar was sponsored by CSIR.  

At Day 1 of the Seminar, the keynote speaker for first session was Dr. Surender Singh Saini, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR Chandigarh. Director Engineering Dr. Vinod Kumar welcomed the guest and discussed the importance of Artificial Intelligence and nanotechnology in the current scenario.

As per the Press Release, the Topic of first session was “AI in Business Management”. The speaker emphasized on the significance of AI in Business Management and discussed the different areas in which AI is being used.  The keynote speaker for the second session was Dr. Ritesh Kumar, Principal Scientist CSIR Chandigarh. The Topic for this session was "AI for Smell and Taste Applications". 

The speaker discussed the applications of Artificial Intelligence to differentiate between different tastes of food items. He also elaborated the concept of Electronic nose. The keynote speaker for third session on day 1 was Dr. Anil Kumar, Professor CCET Sector 26, Chandigarh and the topic was “AI and Soft Computing”. The speaker gave the insight of Artificial Intelligence and Soft computing to the participants and discussed the different applications and Optimization techniques.

Talking about Day 2 of the National Seminar, it started with a session on “Challenges in Artificial Intelligence” by Dr. Kulbir Singh Professor &Associate Dean, Thapar University, Patiala. The talk focused on the applications of AI in day-to-day life and the challenges of AI.  This session was followed by a session on “Integration of AI &Nanotechnology” by Dr. Karmjit Singh Sandha,Assistant Professor, Thapar University Patiala. The session was highly informative and focused on the introduction to nanotechnology and how this technology has transformed the human lives in the last 10 years. The third session was a practical session and focused on the implementation aspects of Artificial Intelligence by Rohit Khosla, Director, The Core Systems, Chandigarh. The speaker focused on the  implementation of AI using python. This was followed by a Valedictory function in which all the organizers and participants were felicitated by Dr. Vinod Kumar, Director Engineering.
