Punjab Deadline for Plot Registration Without NoC Latest News Today: In a move aimed at providing relief to the public, the Punjab Government has extended the last date for the registration of plots without a No Objection Certificate (NoC) until August 31, 2025. The decision aligns with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's commitment to improving public services and ensuring a hassle-free process for property registration.
Announcing the extension, Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardip Singh Mundian stated that the decision was taken in response to strong public demand. Previously, the window for NoC-free plot registration was open from December 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025. Now, residents will have an additional six months, from March 1, 2025, to August 31, 2025, to complete their registrations.
The Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2024, eliminated the NoC requirement for registering land deeds. As per the revised law, individuals who executed a power of attorney or agreement to sell on stamp paper for properties up to 500 square yards in unauthorized colonies before July 31, 2024, can register their land without an NoC.
Minister Mundian emphasized that this amendment not only provides relief to small plot owners but also helps in regulating illegal colonies. The initiative is expected to simplify land transactions and curb the hurdles faced by the general public in property registration. The government remains committed to checking the growth of unauthorized colonies while ensuring a smooth and transparent property registration system.
