Ruling MP Says 'We are in full support of C.P. Radhakrishnan'
INDIA alliance Vice-Presidential candidate B. Sudershan Reddy Latest News: INDIA alliance Vice-Presidential candidate and former Supreme Court Judge B. Sudershan Reddy on Tuesday evening arrived at Delhi airport.
He was received by Congress MPs Rajeev Shukla, Syed Naseer Hussain, Mallu Ravi, and Pramod Tiwari at the airport.
B. Sudershan Reddy speaking to the media at the airport, he said, "Thank you for projecting me as a candidate on behalf of INDIA Alliance. But for you, it would not have been possible...As a candidate, I would humbly request and appeal to all the Parliamentarians to support my candidature."
The vice presidential election is scheduled to be held on the 9th, next month.
Opposition Roots for B. Sudershan Reddy as the next Vice President of India:
Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain said, B. Sudershan Reddy has a ‘clean image’ and is chosen based on ‘ideological basis’.
"We have chosen a candidate on ideological basis, with a clean image, a candidate who is not in any party, a candidate who has a track record of upholding constitutional values and working in a democratic spirit. One who has fought for social justice, political and economic empowerment of people, and who has gone by the law of the land,” MP Syed Naseer Hussain said.
He added, “So, our candidate has many merits which we will put forth in the days to come. Let us see which party, MP will do what in the days to come..." He made the statement speaking to the News Agency ANI.
Another Congress MP, Pramod Tiwar,i speaking INDIA alliance’s Nominee, said, "If you read his (, B. Sudershan Reddy) judgments, he has made decisive judgments boldly in the interest of people, in the national interest. The Vice President post should indeed be occupied by such a personality. He is the most suitable candidate. MPs should support him.”
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy told ANI that when the Congress party conducted a caste census in Telangana, Justice Sudershan Reddy was the independent expert committee chairman.’
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy added, "... Our cabinet and Congress party, on behalf of the people of Telangana and on behalf of the Telugu community, we request Telugu Desam Party, Janasena, YSR, BRS and AIMIM, all political parties, leaders should unite and try to make Justice Sudarshen Reddy win. After PV Narasimha Rao, Telangana did not get such an opportunity..."
On the INDIA alliance VP nominee, former Supreme Court Judge B. Sudershan Reddy, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said, "...He is not a member of the Congress party. He is a Constitutional and legal expert... It is very good for the country that a Constitutional expert becomes the Vice President... I request all the MPs of TDP, YSRCP, BRS, and AIMIM to vote for Sudershan Reddy..."

The NDA government led by the BJP has chosen Maharashtra Governor and RSS veteran, C.P. Radhakrishnan as the Vice Presidential Candidate.
TDP MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, taking a jibe at the opposition, said, "I am happy that at least now the Opposition, INDIA Alliance, recognizes there are states down south of India. So, this has happened because PM Modi has announced C.P. Radhakrishnan from Tamil Nadu.”
“As an NDA partner, we are in full support of the candidate announced by the NDA, C.P. Radhakrishnan. We are totally confident that with the numbers that we have in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the states as well, that we will come out not only with flying colours but with a much bigger majority than the last time..." he added.
