Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann handed over appointment letters to 1,746 newly appointed constables recruited in the District and Armed Police cadres at Jalandhar, on Sunday, DGP Punjab said.
Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, in a statement issued on his X, expressed gratitude to CM Mann for the same.
"These highly qualified and energetic police personnel will strengthen our policing capabilities, enabling
Punjab Police to serve the citizens of Punjab more efficiently and effectively," the DGP's post read.

"I welcome all newly appointed police officers to the Punjab Police family," he added.
CM Mann congratulated and extended best wishes to all new appointees on becoming a part of the government.

"I encouraged them all to work with complete dedication for the safety and security of Punjab and its people," the Chief Minister said in post on his X.
He highlighted that since April 2022, over 63,000 youths have been given government jobs, including 10,264 recruitments in the police department.

"Our government is making special efforts to modernize the Punjab Police. We are fully committed to upholding the glorious history and prestige of the Punjab Police," he added in the post.
