The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu notice of the incident.
Karnataka News: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, on Saturday, met the family of a female BJP worker in Hubballi, after she was allegedly “assaulted” while in police custody, according to ANI.
Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & New and Renewable Energy, is an MP from Dharwad constituency in the state of Karnataka.
On 7th January, a video showing a BJP worker being disrobed during her arrest went viral on social media, an ANI report said.
Police have denied the allegations; however, the National Commission for Women has taken suo motu notice of the incident and has written to the DGP of Karnataka to file an FIR.
The commission has requested a detailed Action Taken Report (ATR) on the entire incident within 5 days.
