New Delhi: A 32-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her brother-in-law in east Delhi's Mandawli area today, police said.
The
victim, Jaiba Khan alias Sonia, was found with a bullet wound to her
right temple by her husband Shahdab. He informed the police about the
incident, they said.
He told police that he had got
into a fistfight with his brother Sikandar yesterday. Sikandar was
addicted to drugs and had fallen into bad company that irked his
brother, police said.
Yesterday, Shahdab rebuked his brother for
his bad habits and the duo got into a fight. Today, Sikandar came to
Shahdab's home in his absence, they said.
Khan informed her
husband about Sikandar coming to meet him and asked him to return home.
When Shahdab came, he found his wife lying in a pool of blood.
Police are on the lookout for Sikandar, who is absconding, police said.
