Muzaffarnagar (UP): A 23-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three men here at Basdhara village in the district, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday when three men abducted the woman while she was out to collect water from the nearby hand pump, Station House Officer (SHO) BV Singh said.
He said the accused allegedly threatened to kill her if she told about the incident to anyone. "The accused were there in the village to attend a marriage. As of now, all three of them are absconding. However, efforts are on to nab them at the earliest," the officer said.
A case has been registered on the basis of the complaint lodged by the woman's parents, while she has been sent for- medical examination, he added. PTI
