Muzaffarnagar (UP): A 16-year-old girl was
allegedly gang-raped by three youths at Dargahpur village in
Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, police said today.
Two of the accused have been arrested, they said.
The incident took place yesterday when the three accused
barged into the girl's house in her family's absence, Circle
Officer Rajesh Bhardwaj said.
"Two of the accused have been arrested, while efforts are
on to nab the third one who is absconding," he added.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim's
brother, her sister was beaten up and raped by the three
accused, who he alleged also threatened to kill her if she
informed anyone about the incident.
A case has been registered and the girl has been sent for
medical examination, police said. PTI
