Suspicious Of An Affair, Man Kills Wife In Front Of 4-Year-Old Son In Delhi

New Delhi: A man killed his wife, who he suspected of infidelity, in front of their 4-year-old son who he thought was asleep, the police said on Tuesday.

The police found the body of the woman at her home in a village in Delhi's Dwarka. The couple's 4-year-old son, who witnessed the murder, told the police that she was strangulated by his father.


Upon questioning, neighbours informed the police that the couple had a quarrel between themselves on Saturday. They also said that they had seen the accused man leaving his home on Sunday.

The 29-year-old man was arrested by the police. The accused confessed to the murder, saying he suspected his wife of being involved in an extra-marital affair. He confessed to having had an altercation, following which he killed her.

The couple was living with their three children in Dwarka. The two other siblings were asleep when the incident took place.

According to the accused, the family shifted to Delhi from his native village in Bihar as he suspected his wife of having an affair. But even after shifting, he was again suspicious of her. The police had formed six teams to capture the accused, according to a senior police officer, Shibesh Singh.

According to the officer, one team was sent to his native village while three others were sent to different railway stations in Delhi.

He was finally caught in Amberhai village, where he was living with his wife and children. The couple had been married for seven years. PTI
