Over 51 lakh units of power supplied by sugar mills in Haryana

Chandigarh: More than 51.17 lakh units of electricity have so far been supplied by two cooperative sugar mills to state power utilities in Haryana during the current crushing season. Stating this here today, an official spokesman said that while Rohtak sugar mill supplied over 27.82 lakh units, Shahbad cooperative sugar mill supplied over 23.34 lakh units of electricity.

He said that cooperative sugar mills in the state have so far produced over 1.54 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 24.52 lakh quintal sugarcane.     He said that cooperative sugar mill, Rohtak had produced the maximum of 39,130 quintal sugar by crushing 5.58 lakh quintal sugarcane.   


He said that cooperative sugar mill, Shahabad has produced 25,000 quintal sugar by crushing 3.90 lakh quintal sugarcane, followed by the cooperative sugar mill, Kaithal, which has produced 16,650 quintal sugar by crushing 2.66 lakh quintal sugarcane and cooperative sugar mill, Jind which has produced 14,600 quintal sugar by crushing 2.15 lakh quintal sugarcane.
