Newly-wed held for stealing from husband's home in UP

Muzaffarnagar (UP): A newly-wed woman was arrested for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery from her husband's house here at Kakda village in the district, police said today.


The accused, identified as Jyoti, was absconding for over two months before she was arrested yesterday, they said.

According to the police, Jyoti, who recently got married in September, left her husband's house after stealing Rs 70,000 cash and jewellery on October 2.

Police said a case of cheating has been registered against the accused and they are inquiring into the matter.
