Munish Nagar: The Maharashtra State Education Board has performed the last rites of the ‘Mughals’ by removing the Mughal period from the History textbooks of class VII. Taj Mahal, Qutub Minaar and the Red Fort are now where in the revised History textbooks. The board has only highlighted the ‘Maratha Empire’ founded by the king ‘Shivaji.’

Munish Nagar: The Maharashtra State Education Board has performed the last rites of the ‘Mughals’ by removing the Mughal period from the History textbooks of class VII. Taj Mahal, Qutub Minaar and the Red Fort are now where in the revised History textbooks. The board has only highlighted the ‘Maratha Empire’ founded by the king ‘Shivaji.’

The revised textbook has highlighted the Maratha Empire and removed the period of ‘Mughal rulers.’ Moreover, the architectural contribution of the Mughals also removed from the books.

The board introduced the revised textbooks of History from this current academic session and the great monuments built by the ‘Mughals’ didn’t get the space in the books. The revised history textbook for class IX mentions the ‘Bofors scam’ and the Emergency of 1975-1977.

There is also no mention of the ‘rupaya’ that was first introduced as currency by the Afghan invaders, and the term still continues. In the revised textbook, ‘Shivaji’ has been made the hero in the text books. Even the cover of the revised textbook depicting the saffron flags on the map of the country.

If we look at the reason behind the move, then it’s obvious that the BJP led government in Maharashta wants to remove the information of Mughals from History books to glorify ‘Hinduism’.

The board members had a meeting with the RSS leaders and the deletions done to remove the information from the History. In a span of three years of BJP led government in India, the ‘Hinduism’ has become the centre point.

Moreover, the nomenclature of the places having Mughal names also suggested to be changed by the Safron leaders. The BJP leaders have been demanding the nomenclature of the places on Hindu leaders of the history.

There are so many things given by the Mughals in their ruling period. And off course the dishes are prominently depicting the cuisines of the Mughals. So, it means the BJP would give the Hindu names to the Mughlai dishes.
