Khattar congratulates state players for winning medals at CWG

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Sports Minister Anil Vij today congratulated athletes from the state for winning medals in different events at the Commonwealth Games. 

In a message issued here, the chief minister said, "We are proud of your splendid performance in all events. Our players have made the state and the country proud. Their performance will inspire many youngsters to pursue sports as a lucrative career. My best wishes to all the participants for a bright future. Congratulations."

In a separate message, Vij said, "Congratulations to all Haryana players for winning 22 medals, including nine gold, six silver and seven bronze in CWG 2018 Great achievement. 38 players participated from Haryana in the CWG."  

Every gold medallist will get Rs 1.5 crore; silver medallist will get Rs 75 lakh and bronze medal winners will get Rs 50 lakh as cash award. Besides, every gold medal winner will be entitled to Class A; silver medal winner to class B and bronze medal winner to class C job in Haryana government, he added. PTI
