Chandigarh: Punjab and Haryana reeled under cold weather conditions today with Karnal and Ludhiana being the coldest places in the region with a low of 3 degrees Celsius each.
Union Territory of Chandigarh, the joint capital of both Punjab and Haryana, recorded its low at 7 degrees Celsius, an official of the MeT department said here.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded its minimum at 3.2 degrees Celsius while Patiala braved cold weather conditions at 5 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal.
Pathankot, Adampur, Halwara, Bathinda, Faridkot, and Gurdaspur recorded their lows at 5.3, 3.4, 5.3, 5, 5.5 and 6.5 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, minimum temperatures in Ambala, Hisar, and Rohtak settled at 7, 3.6 and 5.4 degrees Celsius, respectively. Minimum temperatures in Narnaul and Bhiwani were recorded at 3.5 and 7.5 degrees Celsius. According to the MeT department, the fog was witnessed in some areas including Karnal district in Haryana.
