
When the BJP announced Narendra Modi as Prime Ministerial candidate for 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the party including Modi promised the farmers for the overall support including the loan waiver.
The BJP won the 2014 general elections with a landslide victory and despite after the three years of BJP regime, the farmers of country facing crisis.
Instead of coming out with the pro farmers policies, the BJP regime led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been pleasing the country’s top industrialists.
If the centre government directs these companies to repay the loans then it would have given respite to the farmers by waive off the farmers’ loan. However, the government has not done anything in this regard.
Reliance Communications to repay Rs 45000 Cr loan
The owner of Reliance Communications, Anil Ambani has to repay a loan of Rs 45000 Crores in seven months. The company has lost two crores of customers in a span of one year. Even the rating of the company has been reduced in the market.
Tata Sons to repay Rs 34000 Cr loan
The country’s oldest and biggest business company Tata Sons has to repay Rs 34000 crore loan. The company has tried its level best to sell the Tata Teleservices but failed to sell it. The company has 4.5 crores members in the country.
RIL to repay Rs 75000 crore loan
The Reliance Industries Ltd owned by Mukesh Ambani has to repay a loan of Rs 75000 crore. Reliance is the country’s top most company.
Rs 72,000 crore of Adani loans waived, courtesy Modi govt
CPM politburo member Brinda Karat had accused the NDA government of adopting an anti-farmer and pro-corporate stance.
Karat said that the party plans to increase women membership from the present 16 per cent to 25 per cent, adding that membership in the CPM is not the one like “missed call”, an indirect dig at BJP.
“Modi government waived the Rs 72,000 crore bank loans of Adani group companies while waiver of loans for the entire farmer community in the country was Rs 75,000 crore. In the last three years, waiver of bank loans to the corporate sector touched Rs 6.8 lakh-crore. 70 per cent of loans waived were of corporates,” she alleged.
Corporate houses owe Rs 5 lakh Cr to banks
According to the information, the corporate houses owe about Rs 5 lakh crore to PSU banks. A JD(U) MP had revealed the figures in the Rajya Sabha last year. He referred to the Adani group alleging that the company got ‘unimaginable’ favors.
