Punjab Boosts Ease of Doing Business: CM Mann Launches 173 Services on FastTrack Portal
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann launched Phase 2 of the FastTrack Punjab Portal. It is a huge milestone in its industrial reform journey. The upgraded single-window platform now integrates 173 government-to-business services across 15 key departments. It is aimed at delivering faster approvals, digital tracking, auto-deemed clearances, and enhanced transparency for investors and entrepreneurs.
CM Mann described this initiative as a single window with a single pen system that symbolises transparency, efficiency, and constructive governance. He highlighted that the portal introduces deemed approvals to ensure timely clearances and reinforce Punjab’s commitment towards becoming an investor-friendly state. Currently, 47 services across nine departments are operational, and coordinated monitoring has reduced application pendency to zero.
Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora highlighted key advancements in Phase 2 that include the PAN-based Single Business Identifier consolidating all approvals, incentives, inspections, and compliance requirements under one unified digital identity. The new E-Vault system allows investors to securely store their documents and government-issued clearances and eliminate repetitive submissions, significantly reducing processing times.
Arora also noted improvements such as advanced scrutiny protocols, digital Green Stamp Paper issuance, expanded RTBA coverage, and lifecycle-based workflows. workflows. All of these changes position FastTrack Punjab as a comprehensive platform for industrial setup, expansion, and operations. Ten major state-level clearances—including land allotment, construction permissions, and environmental approvals—are now processed under the Punjab Right to Business Act’s fast-track mechanism, with in-principle approvals granted within five working days for industrial parks and a maximum of 45 working days for non-RTBA cases.
CM Mann emphasised that Punjab has experienced a reverse migration of industries and has now attracted investments worth INR 1.40 lakh crore and generated nearly five lakh jobs since 2022. He urged the youth to become job creators instead of job seekers. He highlighted that the government’s focus is on entrepreneurship and collaborative industrial growth.
