Indians Deported from Canada News: Around 2,831 Indian nationals were removed from Canada between January and October 2025, according to Canadian government data cited in a report by The Indian Express.
The report noted that, as per data released by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), India ranked second in terms of removals by nationality, after Mexico, which recorded 3,972 removals.
In total, the Canadian government removed between 18,785 and 18,969 individuals across all nationalities during the same period.
The report highlighted a gap between the official data released by Canada and India. Drawing a comparison, it said that the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had informed Parliament that only 188 Indian nationals were deported from Canada in 2025.
It added that Canada has not issued any statement addressing the Indian figures or explaining the discrepancies.
Citing experts, the report clarified that definitional differences could be the reason for the discrepancies. Canada, it said, includes both forced deportations and voluntary departures following a legally enforceable removal order and proof of exit, while India likely counts only forced, escorted deportations as removals.
