Operation Sindoor Debate Monsoon session 2025 latest news; Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, paid tribute to those killed in the Pahalgam terror attack and condemned both the attack and Pakistan for its continued support to terrorism. He made these remarks while speaking in the Rajya Sabha today during the discussion on Operation Sindoor.

"I pay my tributes to those who were killed in the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam. I also offer my deep condolences to their families. I would like to say — mehendi waale haathon ne pati ki laash uthai hai, bebas rote bachhon ne papa ki jaan ganwai hai, ashru bhare lachaar khadi bebas naari ko dekha hai, Pahalgam ghaati mein humne apno ko marte dekha hai," Kharge said.

He added, "Along with the entire country and this House, I condemn the barbaric attack in Pahalgam and the continuous support to terrorists by Pakistan. We had condemned Pakistan earlier, we condemn them today, and if this continues tomorrow, we will continue to condemn them. But here, we condemn them, and you attend their feasts and hug them."

Mallikarjun Kharge also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not responding to letters addressed to him, saying that "people would one day tear down your arrogance."

"Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi and I had written to the Prime Minister and demanded a special session of Parliament, but there was no response to the letter... Our letters are dumped in the waste box. They don’t even read them. If you have such arrogance, then one day the people who would tear down that arrogance will come. This is not good. You do not have the time to write even a sentence or two. But you have the time to cling to people."

Kharge, in his speech, questioned Home Minister Amit Shah's accountability and asked him to vacate his post if he was responsible for the national security lapse.

"...Uri and Pathankot terrorist attacks in 2016, Pulwama in 2019, and now Pahalgam in 2025 — all these incidents make it clear that there is a recurring intelligence failure and failure in national security... I would like to ask the Home Minister — who is responsible for this? What did you do to rectify the mistake? If you are responsible, vacate your post. If not, then what action is the Prime Minister taking?"

He further criticized the narrative that Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha should take full responsibility for the Pahalgam attack.

"On 14th July 2025, J&K LG Manoj Sinha admitted that the Pahalgam terror attack was undoubtedly a security failure. He said, 'I take full responsibility for the incident, which was undoubtedly a security lapse.' But the Home Minister should take responsibility — not the Lieutenant Governor," Kharge asserted.
