Meanwhile, remaining open tourist spots have been placed under tight security surveillance.

Jammu and Kashmir Tourist Spots Closed, Pahalgam Terror Attack, India vs Pakistan news: In a sweeping move following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has temporarily shut down 48 out of 87 tourist destinations across the Kashmir Valley.

According to government officials, these closures affect areas either involved in active anti-terror operations or considered high-risk zones. Prominent scenic locations like Yousmarg, Bangus Valley, Aharbal, Wular/Watlab, and Doodpathri are among the affected destinations.

Meanwhile, remaining open tourist spots have been placed under tight security surveillance. Authorities say this is part of a broader crackdown on terror infrastructure in the region.

Passenger traffic at Srinagar International Airport has also taken a hit, showing a noticeable decline. Data reveals a dip in arrivals and departures from April 23 onward, with more passengers leaving the valley than arriving.

In retaliation for the Pahalgam massacre—the deadliest attack in Kashmir since Pulwama in 2019—security forces have intensified operations. Over 600 locations have been searched, and nine houses linked to terror suspects have been razed.
