Jasprit Bumrah has created history by becoming the first Indian fast bowler to win the prestigious ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year award. His stellar performances throughout 2024 earned him the Sir Garfield Sobers Award, making him the fifth Indian to achieve this feat. Bumrah joins an elite list of past winners, including Rahul Dravid (2004), Sachin Tendulkar (2010), Ravichandran Ashwin (2016), and Virat Kohli (2017, 2018).

Reflecting on the accolade, Bumrah shared, “Winning the Sir Garfield Sobers Award is truly special. Last year’s T20 World Cup victory in Barbados will always hold a special place in my heart. Watching my heroes win this award inspired me as a youngster, and it’s an honor to now be on the receiving end.”

The Indian pacer’s achievements highlight his exceptional talent and reaffirm his status as one of cricket’s finest players.
