Four Lane Greenfield Amritsar Connectivity Project Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway latest news: Four Lane Greenfield Amritsar Connectivity Project: Ceigall India Limited has announced that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has terminated its contract for the construction of a four-lane Greenfield Amritsar connectivity project.
The project, undertaken in a joint venture with Ms Krishna Constructions, aimed to enhance connectivity between Amritsar and the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway.
The termination follows a notification from NHAI, referencing letter No. NHAI/PIU/ASK/DAK/PKg-1/File-207962, dated 25 February 2025. The decision to terminate was based on Clause 3.4 of the Contract Agreement, citing insufficient land acquisition for the project’s designated stretch.
Ceigall India Limited had sought revocation of the termination; however, NHAI did not approve the request. Instead, the Authority has agreed to pay damages equivalent to 1% of the contract price, in line with contractual provisions.
The project, with a total bid cost of ₹1,071 crores, was part of an ongoing infrastructure development initiative under the EPC model (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction). The company has urged stakeholders to refer to page 217 of its Red Herring Prospectus for further details on the financial implications.
Ceigall India Limited has made the official announcement available on its website and has advised stakeholders to take note of the latest developments.
