Udhampur Accident News: Four people, including one Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, lost their lives in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Tuesday. According to officials present at the scene, the car plunged into a gorge following the accident.
Kartar Singh, Second-in-Command of the CRPF 137 Battalion, along with other personnel, reached the spot within minutes, while some CRPF personnel were already on duty in the area. Police and traffic police teams also arrived at the scene.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Kartar Singh said the accident occurred near milestone 68 on the Srinagar-bound road, where a bus collided with a pickup truck.
The CRPF jawan who died in the tragic accident belonged to the 52 Battalion. All the bodies have been retrieved from the gorge and sent to the hospital.

The CRPF personnel was leaving home for a holiday when the tragedy struck, said the CRPF officer. No other person was injured in the incident.
The cause of the accident is being ascertained. According to visuals shared around 15 minutes after the accident, it was drizzling in the area. However, it remains unclear whether it had been raining before the accident and if the weather contributed to the incident.
