Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will chair an all-party meeting of floor leaders of both Houses of Parliament on Tuesday, ahead of the Budget Session, which begins tomorrow.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju were seen arriving at the Parliament complex a short while ago for the meeting.
According to ANI, the meeting will be held in the Main Committee Room of Parliament and will set the agenda for the Budget Session.
The session is divided into two phases, with a 25-day break in between. The first phase is scheduled from January 28 to February 13, while the second phase will be held from March 9 to April 2.
The session will feature 30 sittings, with the Union Budget 2026–27 scheduled to be presented on February 1.
The session will formally begin with the opening address by President Droupadi Murmu to members of both Houses of Parliament.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the strategy group of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) will be held today at the residence of CPP chairperson Sonia Gandhi to discuss the party’s strategy for the upcoming Budget Session, ANI added.
