The national capital's air quality was recorded in the 'very poor' category on Monday morning and the share of stubble burning in the city

New Delhi: The national capital's air quality was recorded in the 'very poor' category on Monday morning and the share of stubble burning in the city is likely to increase in the coming days.

The city recorded an air quality index (AQI) of 343 at 10 am on Monday. The 24-hour average AQI was 349 on Sunday.

An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.

A large number of farm fires were observed over Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, which is likely to impact Delhi-NCR's air quality, it said.
