Rajasthan School Building Collapse Death Toll Latest News Today: In a shocking incident, a government school building collapsed on Friday in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district, leaving seven children dead and 17 others injured, the police said on Friday.
According to reports, the incident occurred at the Peeplodi Government School in Manoharthana block of the district, while the children were attending classes.
"seven children have died, and 17 others are injured. Ten children have been referred to Jhalawar, out of which three to four are critical,” Superintendent of Police, Jhalawar, Amit Kumar told PTI.
Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma said, "The tragic accident caused by the collapse of a school roof in Peeplodi, Jhalawar, is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. Instructions have been given to the concerned authorities to ensure proper treatment for the injured children."
Former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot tweeted, "In Manoharthana, Jhalawar, reports are coming in of a government school building collapsing, causing casualties among several children and teachers. I pray to God for minimal loss of life and a speedy recovery for the injured."
