Himachal Pradesh Mandi Sarkaghat Bus Accident Latest News Today: A tragic road accident occurred in the Tarangala area near Maseran village in Sarkaghat subdivision of Mandi district on Wednesday, claiming the lives of seven people, including three women and two men, and injuring around 20 others.
The incident took place when an HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) bus carrying 20 to 25 passengers lost control and skidded off the road, tumbling down into the fields below. The bus was en route through the hilly terrain when the accident occurred, triggering panic among passengers and locals.
According to DSP Sarkaghat Sanjeev Gautam, five people died on the spot, while multiple others sustained injuries of varying severity. The injured were immediately rushed to Sarkaghat Hospital for urgent medical attention, with local residents joining hands with the police and administration in ongoing rescue and relief operations.
Emergency teams from Sarkaghat Police Station and the office of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) arrived at the crash site shortly after the incident. Ambulances were deployed promptly, and the rescue efforts were supported by villagers who acted quickly to help the victims.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and the local police have launched a detailed investigation. Authorities are also in the process of identifying the deceased and notifying their families.
