“Yesterday, their Home Advisor said that they have no information that the person has gone to India,” Veena Sikri added.
Former Ambassador of India to Bangladesh Veena Sikri, on Tuesday, called the situation in Bangladesh “very volatile,” citing late youth leader Osman Hadi’s influence on the people there.
Veena Sikri, speaking to news agency ANI, said, "The situation within Bangladesh is very volatile because we know that Osman Hadi, the person who heads the Inqilab Manch, was shot at, and he died.”
“But now there's a huge difference of opinion between this Inqilab Manch and their supporters and the Yunus regime,” she added.
Speaking about India’s alleged involvement in the death of Hadi, she said, “Immediately after Osman Hadi was shot at, the Bangladesh Foreign Office called our High Commissioner in Dhaka, saying that India is involved and that the person has escaped to India. We protested vigorously. But now the Bangladesh government is forced to recognise that India is not involved.”

The former ambassador of India to Bangladesh also said that now, “Inqilab March is very angry with the Yunus regime and saying they might withdraw support and call upon them to resign, and so on. So that volatility is building up in Bangladesh..."
Meanwhile, Congress MP Rajeev Shukla, while speaking to the news agency, demanded strong action from the centre on the issue of minorities in Bangladesh.
He stated that despite the Congress party raising the issue in the parliament, the ruling party is not taking strong measures.
Calling the matter serious, Shukla said, “Bangladesh, which used to be so close to us, is now drifting away. This also raises questions about our foreign policy – what kind of foreign policy is it that we have no allies in the world?”
“Bangladesh is our neighbouring country; we had such good relations, and we played a major role in its liberation. Now, people there are turning against us, and Hindus are being harassed in such a way. I think this is very wrong, and the government should take some strong steps in this matter..." he added.
