Pahalgam Terror Attack: Local Pony Operator Killed While Trying to Disarm Terrorist

A local pony operator in the Baisaran region of Pahalgam was shot dead after bravely attempting to snatch a rifle from one of the attackers during the recent terrorist attack.

The victim, Syed Adil Hussain Shah, provided horse rides to tourists from the car parking area in the valley up to the meadows, a route inaccessible by vehicles. He was reportedly the sole breadwinner of his family.

His family, devastated by the loss, has called for justice.

In a statement to ANI, his father Syed Haider Shah said, "My son went to Pahalgam yesterday to work, and around 3 p.m., we heard about the attack. We tried calling him, but his phone was switched off. Later, at 4:40 p.m., the phone turned on, but no one answered. We rushed to the police station, and that’s when we learned he had been injured in the attack. Whoever is responsible must face the consequences."

The gruesome attack left more than 25 people dead, mostly tourists, including two foreign nationals.
